Jen Aranyi inspired...
Mason Jars and Mountainscapes! Remember the new art lessons I was working on? Here is one of them. Look at the amazing results from my 4th graders.

This lesson they totally completed on their own using the link provided. I was so proud of them and they absolutely loved being able to do this on their own.

Below is the QR Code for the lesson from my previous post. You will need to have Google Slides to view and inside the slides are links to videos and handouts that will be helpful.

Happy New Year!

What a great break it has been, I've been creating some NEW art lessons. Some I've created are originals and others with a little inspiration from some amazing art teachers out there. It's so great to be able to connect digitally around the world and share idea with one another. I hope my blog will inspire you as much as I get inspired creating it. ENJOY!

Here's a sneak peek of a lesson that I'm very excitied about - Just scan the QR code and it'll take you to my lesson. You'll need Google Slides to view it. It'll also have links inside to videos, etc...

I'm also attaching the PDF's I created to hep with creating the Mountains, Cabin, Tent, Trees, etc... I love that these will all be unique and slightly different.

Heather Brown Inspired...

Heather Brown is one of the artists I've been teaching my 5th grader's about.  Her art is so bright, vibrant and inspiring. With this project, we are either creating a surfboard, snowboard or skateboard shaped design. It's just getting away from the same old rectangled piece of art shape and the students love it.

The medium for these pieces was inspired by Hether Browns thick back outlined lines. And to challenge them to create art with a variety of mediums that they may not necessarily use/choose.

They are turning out so cool and I loved how unique each one was.

The Creative Classroom Book...

Exciting News!
I'm working on my second book and I'm almost done. I just love that way this book is turning out and I can't wait to share it with art teachers, classroom teachers, homeschool parents, etc... The video above will help explain how my book looks and the great lessons that you will find inside.

It's similar to my first book in that the lessons are full illustrated, 4 color photos, links to book, videos, etc.. and so much more. If you haven't seen my first book, here's a link to it in my TPT Shoppe"The Creative Classroom" Art Book

2nd Grade Tree of Life bulletin board based on the art and artist Gustav Klimt.

2nd Grade - Klimt Tree of Life
These were so much fun to create and their art is absolutely amazing. Love the metallic oil pastels and acrylic paint against the black construction paper.

This is one of the books I use when introducing students to Klimt - "The Magical Tree - A Children's Book Inspired by Gustav Klimt"

Gustav Klimt

This is a great video (link above)  to use when explaining the technique Klimt used in his art along with a little art history.

One thing you will see as we are learning and creating art will be our "learning targets" - What We Are Learning. Here's just one of the many things students are learning about and creating.

3rd Grade Landscapes - Ton Shulten Style

Students are working hard on their Ton Shulten Style Landscapes after learning about subject matter: landscapes and the art/artist Ton Shulten.

These are turning out so vibrant and I love using pastels. They are messy but so worth it. In this lesson I incorporate texture by using glue as a drawing medium. Here's a link to one version of this lesson: Ton Shulten Landscapes

This time I changed the lesson to allow each student to create their own landscape version, so each one is different than the other. I did put some guidelines for them to follow since we were basing our art on another artist.

Here's some examples of their work...absolutely amazing and so much fun!
